Andrew Garfield talked about his infamous kiss with Ryan Reynolds on The Graham Norton Show.
Ryan Gosling may have walked away with the award for Best Actor (Comedy or Musical) for La La Land at the Golden Globes 2017, but it was Ryan Reynolds and his kiss with Andrew Garfield that stole the spotlight.
As Gosling walked up to the stage to collect the award, Reynolds and Garfield shared a kiss to celebrate their loss to the La La Land actor (while Ryan was nominated for Deadpool, Andrew was nominated for Hacksaw Ridge). Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively, who was seated next to them, could not control her laughter.
He elaborated, “I said to Ryan Reynolds, ‘If you win, kiss me instead of your wife’ and he said ‘Yeah, that’s great.’ The plan was he would kind of move towards his wife and then at the last minute move towards me. Then he didn’t win, much to our disappointment, and I said ‘We could still just do it.’ And he was game. I loved the fact it was so deep in the background, so you had to actually look to see if was actually what you saw.”
