United Airlines cannot, will not catch a break.
In a bid for some good PR at last, the beleaguered airline offered a free trip to Wendy’s chicken nugget sensation Carter Wilkerson only to be dragged (pun intended!) online for the attempt.

After a concerted effort to get Wendy’s to give him a year’s supply of free chicken nuggets, the teen succeeded in beating Ellen DeGeneres‘ retweet record with an astounding 3.6 million retweets. Thus, he was awarded his “nuggs.”
United tweeted at Carter on May 10, offering him the free ride, only to have the gesture beat down by other users.
