We feel so badly for Johnny Galecki.
On Monday, The Big Bang Theory actor’s ranch in San Luis Obispo County, CA burned down due to a sprawling fire in the area. How awful.
It’s said The Hill Fire, an estimated 1,500 acre inferno in central California, is responsible for taking down the Roseanne alum’s residence. Apparently, two fires were the initial culprits before merging together to make one massive blaze. Around 250 people were evacuated from their homes on Monday night and all the roads leading up to the fire have been closed.
Thankfully, it’s believed that the flames have been contained by 60%. This would explain why Galecki, who was in Chicago this weekend for the city’s Country LakeShake Festival, plans to return to the estate to try and salvage anything from the ashes.
“My heart goes out to all in the area who are also experiencing loss from this vicious fire, the threat of which we live with constantly, which may seem crazy to some but we do so because living in our beautiful, rural area makes it worthwhile.
It’s never the structures that create a community — it’s the people. And if the people of Santa Margarita have taught me anything it’s that, once the smoke has cleared, literally and figuratively, it’s a time to reach out and rebuild.”
Awwww. Of course, the 42-year-old made sure to thank the brave firefighters who’ve been working tirelessly to put out the flames. He concluded:
“We’ve done it before, and will need to do it together again, and it will make our community even closer and stronger. Endless thanks to CalFire and the Sheriff’s Office. I know you guys are fighting the good fight to keep us safe. So very relieved no one has been hurt.”
Same, Johnny. Same. As always, our thoughts are with those affected by this disaster.
