It’s official! Katy Perry is going to be a judge on American Idol!
She hinted at it during her latest appearance on Ellen, but now it’s 100% confirmed, and we couldn’t be more excited! She’s gonna rock it!

There are also reports that there will “absolutely” be format changes to the show when it debuts on ABC in early 2018.
ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said:
“You will see clear ABC hallmark and brand [in the format changes].”
They should have revolving chairs! LOLz! Just kidding.
Dungey further insisted that it wasn’t too early to bring the show back, saying:
“From where we sit, it’s the perfect time to bring it back. What I love about it, it’s about heartfelt, uplifting stories of people who make their dreams come true and that’s our sweet spot. For me it feels like the perfect home and the perfect time.”
Hmm, sure.
