An adorable three-month-old Chihuahua named Chewy was found in a bathroom at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas last weekend alongside a heartbreaking note from his owner for why she had to leave him.
You see, Chewy’s mom was apparently escaping an abusive relationship and was unable to afford the extra fee to get the little cutie on the flight.

The devastating letter revealed that Chewy was caught up in the crossfire of abuse and might need medical attention — adding that she had “no other option” but to leave her beloved pet:
“My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet … Please love and take care of him.”

Chewy is now at Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue, which posted to Facebook that they are sifting through all the “loving requesters” wanting to adopt the precious pup (below):
