Word of a new Quentin Tarantino script is always hot news in Hollywood, but this one is particularly juicy — because it’s all about one of the town’s darkest moments.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, QT’s ninth film will be a retelling of the Manson Family murders, in which followers of Charles Manson brutally killed five people, including director Roman Polanski‘s wife, actress Sharon Tate, who was eight months pregnant at the time.

THR reports Tarantino has already met with his Inglourious Basterds star Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence, who sources say is not looking at the Tate role — maybe her killer, Susan Atkins?
Meanwhile Deadline has gotten the scoop that Pitt may play a detective investigating the crime, and Margot Robbie has already met with the director for Tate! With the reported addition of Samuel L. Jackson (we mean, did you really doubt it??), this is shaping up to be one hell of a cast.
Obviously none of this is confirmed, and QT could always change his mind. But we hope not…
